You should share your complete medical history, current conditions, allergies, medications, and previous surgical experiences.
This information helps your medical team identify factors that could affect bleeding, healing, or treatment safety. You should mention heart conditions, blood pressure concerns, diabetes, skin disorders, and clotting problems. Previous reactions to anesthesia or medications should also be explained clearly. Your specialist should know about ongoing treatments, recent illnesses, and planned medical procedures. Even information that appears unrelated may influence preparation decisions. Accurate disclosure allows the team to adjust your treatment plan and provide instructions suited to your individual health needs.
You should only stop medications when your prescribing doctor and hair transplant team provide clear approval.
Certain medicines can affect bleeding, healing, blood pressure, or your response during the procedure. However, stopping prescribed treatment without medical guidance may create unnecessary health risks. You should provide a complete list of prescription medicines before your surgery date. Include occasional pain relievers, topical products, injections, and long-term treatments. Your medical team can then explain which products should continue or pause. Any timing changes should remain documented and easy to follow. This coordinated approach protects your general health while supporting appropriate surgical preparation.
You should discuss every vitamin, herbal product, and dietary supplement before your hair transplant.
Some supplements may influence bleeding, blood pressure, or interactions with other medicines. Therefore, your medical team needs the exact product names and daily amounts. You should include multivitamins, herbal teas, fitness supplements, and products used occasionally. Do not assume natural products are automatically irrelevant to surgical planning. Your specialist may recommend pausing selected supplements before the procedure. However, you should follow only the timing provided by your medical team. Keeping an updated list prevents confusion during your final preoperative review.
You should stop smoking according to your surgeon’s instructions before and after the hair transplant.
Smoking can affect circulation and reduce the oxygen reaching healing scalp tissues. Therefore, continued smoking may interfere with comfortable recovery and healthy wound healing. Cigarettes, vaping products, and other nicotine sources should all be discussed during consultation. Your medical team will explain the recommended restriction period for your treatment plan. You should follow the same guidance after surgery because early healing remains important. Planning your nicotine break in advance makes the preparation period easier. Medical support may be appropriate when stopping nicotine becomes difficult.
You should avoid alcohol for the period specified by your medical team before the procedure.
Alcohol may affect hydration, bleeding, sleep quality, and your response to certain medications. Therefore, drinking shortly before surgery can complicate preparation and recovery. Your clinic should provide a clear restriction period based on the planned technique. You should also avoid arriving with dehydration or a hangover on treatment day. Drinking enough water during the preparation period supports general comfort. However, you should follow any specific fluid instructions provided before surgery. Clear planning helps you arrive rested, hydrated, and ready for the procedure.
You should not cut or shave your hair unless your medical team specifically requests it.
Your existing hair length helps the specialist evaluate density, direction, and natural growth patterns. Longer hair may also support planning for partially shaved or unshaven techniques. Cutting the donor area too closely can reduce visibility during the final assessment. Therefore, you should maintain your usual hairstyle before arriving at the clinic. The medical team will complete any necessary trimming under controlled conditions. This approach ensures the correct areas receive preparation. Following clinic instructions also prevents unnecessary shaving that could affect your preferred postoperative appearance.
You should keep your scalp clean, calm, and free from irritating treatments before transplantation.
Wash your hair regularly using products that do not cause dryness or sensitivity. You should avoid scratching, aggressive brushing, and unnecessary pressure on irritated areas. Hair coloring, chemical straightening, bleaching, and strong scalp treatments may require temporary restriction. These products can increase sensitivity and complicate scalp assessment before surgery. You should inform your clinic when redness, sores, severe dandruff, or infection develops. Early communication allows your medical team to evaluate the condition. Treatment may need adjustment when the scalp is not ready.
You should wash your hair according to the clinic’s instructions before arriving for surgery.
A clean scalp helps remove oil, styling products, and surface residue from treatment areas. You should use the recommended shampoo and rinse your hair thoroughly. Avoid applying gel, spray, wax, fibers, oils, or leave-in products afterward. These products can interfere with scalp preparation and accurate examination. Your hair should remain dry and naturally arranged when you reach the clinic. If your team provides special washing instructions, follow their timing carefully. Proper cleansing supports an organized start without unnecessary delays before the procedure.
You should follow your clinic’s instructions about eating because requirements depend on anesthesia and treatment planning.
Many patients may receive guidance to eat a light meal before local anesthesia procedures. However, fasting may become necessary when sedation or another medical protocol is planned. Therefore, you should confirm the exact requirement before your appointment. Do not make assumptions based on another patient’s experience. Your meal should remain simple and comfortable when eating is permitted. Heavy, greasy, or unfamiliar foods may create digestive discomfort during a long session. Following your personalized instructions helps maintain comfort and prevents procedure-day complications.
You should wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not need pulling over your head.
A buttoned or zippered shirt helps protect the treated scalp when changing clothes. Tight collars, hooded tops, and narrow-neck shirts may touch newly implanted grafts. Comfortable trousers and supportive footwear also make a lengthy procedure easier. You should avoid valuable accessories that require removal before treatment. Leave necklaces, earrings, and unnecessary personal items at your accommodation. Your clinic may also regulate hats or head coverings after surgery. Choosing practical clothing reduces accidental scalp contact and supports a smoother departure after treatment.
You should arrange reliable transportation because driving after the procedure may be unsuitable.
Your scalp can feel tender, while medications may affect concentration or comfort. A long treatment session can also leave you tired when the procedure ends. Therefore, prearranged transportation removes unnecessary stress during your departure. International patients should confirm clinic transfers, hotel locations, and pickup times beforehand. You should keep your phone charged and save essential contact details. Avoid crowded transportation when your medical team recommends additional scalp protection. Planning the return journey carefully supports comfort while reducing accidental contact with the treated areas.
You should reserve enough recovery time before returning to work or public activities.
The required break depends on your procedure size, occupation, and tolerance for visible healing signs. Redness, swelling, scabs, and donor trimming may remain noticeable during early recovery. Office work usually requires less interruption than physically demanding employment. Jobs involving dust, heat, helmets, heavy lifting, or sweating may require additional planning. You should explain your working conditions during consultation. Your medical team can then recommend a suitable return schedule. Arranging leave beforehand prevents pressure to resume activities before your scalp is ready.
You should organize flights, accommodation, transfers, and recovery time before traveling for your hair transplant.
Your arrival schedule should allow enough time for consultation and preoperative assessment. Avoid planning important activities immediately before or after the procedure. Choose accommodation offering a clean, comfortable, and quiet recovery environment. You should confirm the distance between your hotel, clinic, and airport. Keep treatment documents, identification, prescriptions, and contact details easily accessible. Your return flight should also match the clinic’s recommended recovery timeline. Careful travel planning reduces unnecessary movement while helping you attend scheduled appointments without stress.
You should pack comfortable clothing, identification, medications, travel documents, and clinic-approved personal care items.
Include shirts with buttons or zippers because they avoid contact with the scalp. Bring every prescribed medication in its original packaging for accurate review. You should also carry your medical information and emergency contact details. A neck pillow may support comfortable positioning during travel or recovery. However, only use products and accessories approved by your medical team. Avoid packing unnecessary styling products that cannot be used after surgery. Keeping essential items organized helps you follow aftercare instructions without searching for supplies.
You should prioritize restful sleep before your hair transplant to support comfort during the treatment day.
A long procedure can feel more tiring when you arrive without sufficient rest. Therefore, maintain a calm evening routine and prepare your belongings beforehand. Avoid late travel, excessive screen use, and activities that disturb your normal sleep pattern. You should also follow the clinic’s guidance regarding alcohol, caffeine, food, and medications. Set alarms early enough to avoid rushing on surgery morning. A relaxed schedule helps you arrive on time and reduces unnecessary anxiety. Good preparation supports a more comfortable start to your treatment experience.
You should avoid styling products, alcohol, smoking, strenuous exercise, and unapproved medications on surgery morning.
Arrive with clean hair and avoid gel, spray, oils, fibers, or cosmetic scalp concealers. Do not wear tight clothing that must pass over your head. You should follow the clinic’s instructions concerning breakfast, caffeine, and prescribed medicines. Avoid intense exercise because sweating can affect comfort and scalp preparation. Bring required documents and arrive at the confirmed appointment time. Contact the clinic immediately when illness, fever, scalp irritation, or unexpected medication use occurs. Clear communication helps the team decide whether treatment can proceed safely.
You should confirm your appointment time, transportation, preparation instructions, documents, and emergency contact details.
Review every medication and supplement instruction before leaving your accommodation. Check whether eating, drinking, or fasting rules apply to your procedure. You should wear suitable clothing and leave unnecessary valuables behind. Confirm that your phone is charged and your return transportation remains available. Bring identification, medical records, prescriptions, and requested test results. You should also prepare any questions requiring clarification before treatment begins. Completing this final review helps prevent avoidable delays and supports an organized procedure day with Esthetic Hair Mexico.
You should follow your medical team’s preparation instructions carefully before a hair transplant.
Your preparation begins with completing the required consultation and sharing accurate health information. You should also review medications, supplements, allergies, and previous medical procedures with your specialist. These details help the team create a safer and more suitable treatment plan. Your scalp should remain clean, healthy, and free from active irritation before surgery. You should also organize transportation, comfortable clothing, and enough recovery time. Careful preparation reduces avoidable disruptions and helps your procedure begin under controlled conditions.
The preoperative consultation confirms your suitability, treatment goals, donor capacity, and expected hair transplant outcome.
Your specialist examines your hair loss pattern, scalp condition, and available donor follicles during this appointment. This assessment helps determine the suitable technique and estimated graft requirement. Your preferred hairline is also discussed according to facial proportions and long-term hair loss progression. You should explain previous treatments and any changes affecting your hair density. Clear communication helps align your expectations with achievable coverage. The consultation also gives you an opportunity to understand preparation requirements, recovery stages, and the planned procedure schedule.
